WeDevelopment Federal Credit Union (WeDev) was born with a bold mission: to end financial deserts in Kansas City’s Eastside and build what they called a Wealth Revitalization District. But turning that mission into a sustainable movement required more than products and paperwork—it required culture. WeDev needed to: - Establish internal culture to unify staff around mission, vision, and values. - Develop brand messaging that resonated with members, the market, and the broader community. - Create products that weren’t just financial instruments but cultural statements against predatory banking. - Script a customer journey that infused every touchpoint—phone call, email, or branch visit—with dignity, empathy, and empowerment. That’s where Culturesphere™, through our Stratosphere™ (Business Re(Alignment) Suite) and Jetstream™ (Customer Velocity Suite), in partnership with lead agency Messenger Ink, came in.

We repositioned WeDev’s language to be community-first and culturally fluent: - Tagline: WeDev FCU | WeBuild Communities | Dreams Approved. - Narrative: From “banking services” to wealth revitalization. - Joint Visibility: Activated membership and influence through KC Chamber, Hispanic Chamber of Greater Kansas City, and Heartland Black Chamber, ensuring the brand lived in both market and community ecosystems.

We didn’t just build products; we embedded culture into them: - Credit (Re)Vision Program: Turning denied applicants into future members, developed in partnership with Credit Law Center. - We(Re)Finance Any Loan™: A reclamation product that pulled members away from predatory lenders. - Hero Products: • Dead in the Water Payday Rescue Loan • Wealth Revitalization Debit 5% Cashback • Auto Loans with purpose-driven underwriting Every product became a cultural statement: “Banking isn’t transactional. It’s transformational.”

Customer Journey (Mission-Driven Scripting)
We scripted and trained a Wealth Journey Experience for staff, embedding empathy and empowerment in every interaction: - Phone Call Scripts that reframed “loan approval” into wealth journey initiation. - Branch Experience that offered members coffee, tea, or a smoothie—breaking the transactional coldness of traditional banking. - Email + SMS Journeys built around ActiveCampaign, designed to affirm membership, educate on Wealth Rights, and invite referrals via Pass the Cash. The result was not a “banking journey” but a Wealth Journey—a cultural experience wrapped around financial services.
Outcomes + Influence:
